I can see your point about not wanting your son to get hurt and protecting him as much as possible but try to loosen up a little. Your reasons above are valid (except for the dirty floors in someones house)but you do need to loosen up a little. Kids are supposed to get dirty and have boo boos and look like they need a bath. He needs to explore and dig in the dirt with his hands and stuff like that. My husband is diabetic and wont take care of himself?

My husband is diabetic but refuses to take care of himself, he does take insulin when he feels like it, I can tell when his sugar is high because he gets hateful and blames everyone else till were in tears but its always us and never him...his sugar has been running between 350- 400 plus. I told him today his sugar was high cause of his hatefulness he finally took it 3 hrs later of hell for my daughter and I and it was 357. Late this evening he started throwing up and diahrea about 30 min. later I asked him how he was doing and he got hateful. I can't even talk to him anymore, I hate it when its time for him to come home from work anymore...I get where I hate cooking dinner, doing laundry, Ive been getting depressed due to his actions. I have also stopped smoking dec 1st of 2010, but he's not helping me any, he smokes at least 2 packs a day if not more, he smokes in the car, and restaurants, it's like he doesn't care about himself or us...he is suppose to take pills as well, but only when he feels like it and when we remind him he gets mad and says he doesn't need it and wont take it. he also has emphys.,copd, sleep aphnea, high colesteral, along with his diabetics etc. can I please get some advice I am desperate....we have been married 14 very long yrs...I do love him but I can't stand to be around him, I also home school my 13 yr old daughter and shes concern about his health. But I am getting to the point if he doesn't care why should I, this has been going on for at least 3 yrs, I know he's been diabetic longer than he's been diagnosed because I have lost my 2 older kids due to him and his hatefulness,and they are in their mid 20's. Ok, as a kid, i used to watch a lot of tv. I've seen lots and lots of movies, cartoons, doentaries of many genres. Here is the thing, I get seriously involved when i watch stuff on tv or at least i used to (not anymore). There used to be a lot of things as u all know, like happy scenes, sad scenes, comedy, tragedy and so on. All these have specific music, tone and a feel to it. So when something bad happened on tv, like when people die or get some sort of disease or end up in an accident and so on, I used to imagine that those sort of things might happen to my own family, friends and people i know and I used to be so scared for them.(This disorder however i believe is explained before by people, but the next stated one... i don't know) And I used to get really affected by the things happening on tv, like i would feel really happy if i see a happy scene or extremely sad when i see a depressing scene and so on. After yrs of it, I actually came out of those things and knew there is nothing to worry about. But as a kid, certain tone, feel, lighting, atmosphere have all been engraved in my mind related to specific feelings. Like a hospital setting with a death in the movie, gives a depressing feeling, and now when i see something similar in real life (be it real hospitals, or even normal houses that has a certain resemblance to that hospital) to that atmosphere and ambience, I get depressed. If I had in the past seen a movie with a happy setting in a certain location, when i see the same location or atmospheres similar to the location, I feel really happy for no reason. Same applies to music, certain music makes me sad, certain happy but the music that makes me sad doesn't necessarily be a sad tune used in conventional media and so on. If I end up in an atmosphere that makes me sad for the above stated reason, even if good things happen to me, I do feel sad and If I am in an atmosphere that makes me feel happy, even if bad things happen, I get a peaceful and jolly feeling. It's kind of difficult to explain but i have tried my best to say. Does anyone know the name of this disorder? Has this been explained by anyone before?

Smart move staying away from the multi-effects stuff. I really don't know enough about KoL to tell you what pedals will give you their tone. I can tell you the distortion, chorus, delay and wah that I use and really like. I use a Fulltone Full Drive 2 for more subtle overdrive, a RAT for more crunchy distortion, a Boss DD-7 delay, Boss CH-1 Super Chorus, and a Cry Baby Wah-Wah pedal. I know the tone in "Use Somebody" is pretty straight forward overdrive.

Lately I have been extremely worried that I could be pregnant, to the point I'm driving myself insane. I am on the pill and have been for over 5 years and I take it everyday. My last period started Nov 12 and I had on 21-25 of nov however we did use a condom and pull out. I also had protected back in October from the 18th-21st. Recently however my have been a little sore and my veins have been very noticable on them. One morning I was a little queasy when I woke up but that was only one morning. Strange bowel problem, any advice? Doctors, please?

Okay, here's the gross story that so far no doctor has been any help solving. Let me start by saying I've always been very regular and eat plenty of fiber--perhaps too much. I started having a clear discharge from my that eventually caused irritation and itching. After a few days it felt like there was a huge lump or something about to come out--gross right? I thought hemorrhoids initially. A few days later(two weeks after the first symptoms) I couldn't go to the bathroom, which was very strange for me because I go two to three times a day. The next day when I couldn't go I took some saline laxitive that did nothing. On the third day I went to the hospital because it was starting to make me sick. My lack of medical knowledge led me to believe it was still a hemorrhoid that maybe was causing a blockage. An X-Ray was done and they put me on a drip and started pumping me full of laxatives and ordered two enemas. The first enema was administered an hour after I took the magnesium citrate. Two hours after the enema was given there was still no bowel movement, the nurses were freaking out which in turn freaked me out. Almost to the fourth hour finally SUCCESS!!!! The doctor told them to administer the second enema so he could have a clean colonoscopy, the medical proffession being as mickey mouse as it is, the second one was never administered(I'm not arguing) but I did pay for it and it is my health. Anyway the colonoscopy was done and the doctor said there was no hemorrhoid or abstruction, or any other reason for this to have happened. He examined my diet and said that too much fiber could sometimes cause it but that he doubted it. So, it was all strange and I got no answers... just a ten thousand dollar bill. I still have an irritation sometimes, now being 5 months from the initial incident. There is also a lump feeling still most of the time. Is there a doctor out there that actually knows anything about this. My gastrointestinal specialist seemed fairly clueless to all of this.

The only thing I can suggest is try to keep her up longer when you want her awake so she will be tired when it is bed time (whatever time that is for you). I play music in my son's room and it helps him sleep and if he wakes it soothes him back to sleep. Do you put rice in her formula? I did this with my son when he was small and it helped keep him satisfied until it was time to wake up. Sleep when she sleeps and hopefully you can get back on schedule. Keep on trying!

Don't take this the wrong way, but if he's your first child, you may just be over-yzing. I know from my experience that with my first I always did that--always wondering if something was wrong, if he was developing right, or as quickly as other children. You love your children and want them to be the smartest, fastest, most outgoing, etc. If you don't have any other children, it may be that he is just simply shy and not used to playing with other kids. My boys have two other half-siblings that live with us, so they always have interaction with other children and have had that since birth. I don't think you're crazy--you love and worry about your son. Maybe try getting him out to play with other kids more often, and if you already do that and still suspect something, take him to a professional and have him checked out. It won't hurt anything and it will ease your mind. If he is found to have some sort of an issue, by finding it early you'll have the best chance of correcting it now so he'll be fine later on. IMO, I think it sounds like you love your son very much and he's lucky to have parents that pay attention and are concerned about his development. :0)

Has anyone noticed the absolute SKYROCKET in cl prices at local fun shows? Im not sure if they are the same in different states but for the shows i go to. These are local saddle club and 4-h shows. It is $15-20 just to be say you are going to show your horse, then on top of that the cl prices range from $8-10 for ONE cl. About 10 years ago it was free for the fun cles, $2 for standard cles and $5 for a championship cles. Is that not just crazy about how prices of shows are so expensive now-in-days. I mean i know that they are trying to raise money for their clubs and what not but still you have to think about the gas it takes to get to the show grounds too. Say you were going just go show in one class you end up spending $50+ to go, say you are going to ride a horse, show that horse in ONE class, get something to eat if you want to, and to get home. Sorry this is kinda a rant question, but i still show so i guess im going up against myself with this. :P

It's like rick29148 said, except there's a rubber type piece in between the inner and outter parts. Sometimes they disintegrate and let go. Back when people used to check the timing on their engines, the first sign would be they would notice that the timing would read way off, though it actually wasn't, and the engine would run fine. Sounds like yours is totally shot. You will have to have the old one pulled off with a harmonic balancer puller, and a new one installed. Be wary of used ones from the junkyard, as they may already have the same problem, or could develop it soon thereafter.

It doesn't sound to me like you had a breakdown, but the episode caused a lot of anxiety for you so be sure to tell your doctor exactly how you felt. I have the same dog . it does sound as if he was'nt trained when you got him . they are the easiest dog in the world to train so I'd advise to start again with it . the smelly wee I've never encounted but as the others have stated it might be an infection . as you've said these dogs are fantastic with kids so much so that we're getting a second one for christmas so it means that the training starts again for me but it actually only took about 2 weeks with the dog we have now. I just watched him constantly and every time that he went to the toilet I just lifted him onto newspaper on the floor . moving the paper closer to the door each day . then I started taking him outside and all this only took about 14 days. good luck with it .

oh this used to happen to me all the time so now i just get my eyebrows tweezed. for me its because of the acne products i use that make my skin super sensative. please do not use toner that will hurt it! the neosporin is good and also cortizone is great. vaseline aklso works. apply those three products many times in order to improve the burn. it shouldnt make you break out but using acne products on it will worsen it. try using makeup to cover it up. good luck!

I guess it would depend on who you love. Chances are you would stay with the person you are with now. You are different than you were when you were with the other person and I would imagine they had moved on in their lives too. It would be an unenviable position that's for sure. If you chose to stay with who you were with you would have to get divorced. I am human enough to know you can love more than one person at the same time, but not in the same way or for the same reasons. In all reality you would most likely be better off staying where you are, because the other person would never trust you at all, for fear of your feelings for the second person, and after so much time your feelings would not be the same, and you most likely wouldnt remember the feelings you had for the other person, just that you were married to them. I really have no idea, I guess the poor man in that position would have to do some serious soul searching.

I really need help with my negativity?

Okay, so I'm extremely negative all of the time. I'm always rude and degrading (did i use that word right?!?) to everyone, even to those who don't deserve it. I'm always talking about someone and how they are a freak or ugly ... I always say **** (usually to their faces though, I am not two-faced) and I'm overall a huge complainer. I feel as if people think I'm rude, mean, annoying, and bitchy. I obviously know that I need to work on myself otherwise I wouldn't be typing this message. Should I count alcohol calories while trying to gain muscle?

I am about 6'1 and weigh 165 pounds so I am a bit scrawny. I am trying to gain weight by eating about 3200-3500 calories a day. I also use a resistance rope or free weights 2-3 times a week. I eat all healthy carbs fats and red&white meats. I drink the occasional hard cider which is 200 calories per bottle. Im wondering should i count that towards my calorie amount or just ignore it and count it as extra?

I think there are FAR too many broad generalizations in this forum. People who are bitter about their adoption paint ALL adoption as bad, all adoptive parents as people who think of themselves as saviors, and all birth mothers as these ideal young innocent women whose arms were twisted into giving up their child. All of those are broad generalizations and don't apply to every situations but there is SOME truth in it all. Yes, there are young mothers who are persuaded to give up their child by their family, the boyfriend, their own fear, etc. But that's not always the case. Yes, there are some not-so-great adoptive parents out there who seem to think of themselves as "saviors" for their adopted child & throw it in their face any chance they get.....that's just bad parenting. But there are also great adoptive parents who don't do that at all. Then there are the positive adoptees, like myself. I had a great experience and think highly of adoption but I realize that's not everyone's truth. That's fine. I have no problem with those on this site who disagree with my opinion. They are entitled to feel as negatively toward adoption as they want. But it's when they try to invalidate or question my own happy experience that it bugs me. Because to me, that's an unwillingness to accept that there is ANY positive that ever comes out of adoption and that's just another broad generalization brought on by their own negative experience. It would be better if everyone on this site would stay away from broad generalizations period and just accept that there are always going to be some positives and some negatives for ANY situation, including adoption.

Having trouble sleeping, please help?

I am under 16 and having trouble sleeping. Lately I can only fall asleep till around 4am....then I sleep in forever and people try to wake me up but I'm so tired I can't get up. I want to change my sleeping schedule but its hard. I yawn alot and get tired around 11pm...then I go to my bed and I always have my tv on with only alittle sound because I like some light. I usually fall asleep just fine. But lately, I haven't been able to sleep. I just want to be able to be on a good sleeping schedule. I am homeschooled so I can sleep in but I have horses and other animals so I have to be up early. I have used Nyquil before when I couldn't sleep and it didn't really do much. I tried reading a book before bed and it just makes me wanna keep reading the book or get on the computer and do stuff on there. I just can't sleep....mabey there is a safe sleeping medicine I can take. I dont know but I really need sleep. It is now 2 in the morning and I can't sleep. It has been days now and I just cant seem to fall asleep till around 4am. I got an alarm clock, the ipod thing so its really loud so it will wake me up early so I will be tired the next night and finally get back on a good sleeping schedule, but it didn't work on me 'cause I was thattttt tired. I even put it up to my face! Let me know if you think I should take pills or something till I get back to sleeping right. Thanks!

Alright, I am 15 years old, 5.8" tall and only weigh 105 pounds and can barely bench 90 pounds!. I really need to start getting bigger beacuse i am extremely skinny and scrawny. 10 points for UVA students, Virginia residents, prospective UVAers...?

I am from Virginia although I did not go to college there. It is a beautiful campus, but it is kind of in the country. A school like Brown or Northwestern is going to prefer students who attended a top undergraduate school. I am not saying you would not get in if you went to UVA, it would just be difficult. If you did get excepted you would still be really far behind and it would be difficult to catch up. I really do not know that much about the campus, but the surrounding area is dull. It really is just about preference.

Spitfire vs. ME 109 Battle of Malta?

I was watching a TV program about WWII that compared the ME109 against the Spitfire and they fed both planes characteristics into a computer to compare the two. The computer simulations reached the conculsion was that they were pretty much equal but during the Battle of Britian, but the ME 109's had to fly further to get to battle so they would run out of gas. When I was a kid I lived next door to a RAF Ace from the Battle of Malta. I believe in Malta both planes would have to fly the same distance to engage. My neighbour always said that the Spitfire had a very slight upturn at the wingtip that you can't see in photos and according to him this very small difference in wingtip more than anything else that gave Spitfires the advantage in a dogfight between the two. I noticed in the computer similations the wingtip curve was never mentioned. So I wonder what pilots would think, was my neighbour right, would that really make a difference in a dogfight?

Check the frequency setting of the monitor you use at home I bet its about 60htz and the one you use at work is probably about 75htz. Just a little difference cause problem for folks head and makes them get headaches. Try this with work approval. Take monitor from home into work have a tech take it's specs for Frequency. then have tech set it up for you have him then look at spec of other monitor you use normally at work. poof problem solved.

I met this guy at uni a few weeks ago. He's really nice, and chatty and seems to hold all the qualities I would look for in a friend. I am a m comm fresh graduate who currently desperately looking for job. I went to an interview recently and they hired me instantly. But, it's a telemarketing position a.k.a sales. Hi, I am 17 and a senior in high school. We are on a block schedule, and the last schedule of my senior year is about to start (roughly, the month of may). In it, I signed up for swimming cl (sounded easy/fun). I just found out however that for swimming you are REQUIRED to shower, and that the showers are more or less communal (there are dividers but no doors/curtains). I asked my mom if I could get a note to get out of it but she said its no big deal, that she had to do this in school and that I need to get over myself. I really can't imagine having to shower like that, but I also can't change my schedule in the middle of a semester without parental permission. 1) What should I do? 2) Is this as bad as I think it is??
