What could this dream mean?

I had a dream last night that an ex-friend came to visit me and let my indoor only cat out of the house by complete accident. I chased my cat across the street trying to catch him and into an open field. I got close to him and almost had him and then a giant bird.. A vulture possibly.. Swooped down and grabbed him and circled around the field with my cat in his feet. I kept jumping up trying to reach him while crying but couldn't get him. Any idea what this could mean? I just can't stop thinking about it...
