The book the stand the uncut version by stephen king?

The book is huge and its pretty long. I'm only on chapter 25 for 3 days. Its about some virus goin around and in every chapter its about different characters talking about their life. The question is:IS the book going to be like that every chapter or some thing exciting comes up. P.S. dont spoil it for me. okay thanks:].
