When will i be able to use my contact lenses?

i have chronic dry eyes and my optometrist told me that i can't use my contacts until i use a lubricant called 'celluvisc'. but she wasn't specific as to how many days i have to use the lubricant before i can actually put my contacts in. i don't like driving with my gles since the frames distract me sometimes (ADHD). -.- so i need to start using them ASAP. she said i'd get an infection if i used the contacts with my dry eyes. so how many days do i have to use celluvisc before i can actually put the contacts in my eyes?
