Contractors/flooring experts.. help!?

we are putting shaw epic symphonic hardwood (engineered) on the first level of our house. my husband is a drywall contractor and can do the basics of all the other dtrades so he is installing it himself.the only problem is we have a step that drops down from the entry into the living area and one side of the step is rounded.. like a quarter of a circle. any experts have some suggestions on how to do the step and rising???
